"Ancestrale” è un disco che attraversa alcuni degli ambienti inquinati di Corinna. Col passare del tempo, un luogo dove prima ci si era sentiti accolti può corrompersi e diventare dannoso. Così il brano di apertura dell’EP “Ancestrale” (nonché traccia da cui prende il nome tutto il lavoro) comincia con la frase: “ancestrale come la prima volta / criminale come l’ultima volta”. Ogni traccia racconta la difficoltà nel riconoscere e vivere questo passaggio, nel riuscire a capirsi, insieme alla confusione che l’inquinamento porta con sé. Il “fumo” è una delle immagini cardine in cui fa ricorso nei testi. Esso rappresenta il disorientamento dato dall’offuscarsi della vista e al contempo un elemento nocivo alla salute che, diffondendosi nell’aria, agisce in modo subdolo: l’essere umano non può evitare di respirare per sopravvivere. Per la maggior parte, i testi hanno un carattere evocativo, fatta eccezione per “Tagliamo i ponti” e “NSCS” che sono le tracce più dirette e decise. La scelta è stata guidata anzitutto dall’esigenza espressiva del momento nel quale ha scritto e dall’immaginario che si è andato costruendo con la musica.
